Japan's 4 million foreign residents face steepest immigration fee hike in over 40 years

Japan is set to impose some of the sharpest immigration fee increases in its modern history, with the cost of applying for permanent residency potentially rising twentyfold under a bill the Cabinet approved on March 10.
