Bosch acquires Uptake to expand predictive maintenance for commercial fleets

Technology and automotive parts provider Bosch says it is expanding its offerings in predictive maintenance for commercial fleets by acquiring Uptake Technologies, Inc., a Chicago startup that specializes in AI-based predictive analytics. The move will allow Bosch to add to its offerings in “data-driven vehicle health services” and answer rising demand from customers who face pressure to reduce downtime, control operating costs, and maximize vehicle uptime. Bosch said the planned acquisition will combine the Uptake AI-driven predictive maintenance solution with data from broadly deployed Bosch Connectivity Hub (C-Hub) vehicle telematics, and then connect to the Bosch FleetME ecosystem. And the resulting actionable insights will help fleets reduce maintenance costs and increase uptime, the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
